# Signing In

> Sign in to Spur, reset your password, accept an invite, and turn on two-step verification.

Go to [app.spurtest.com/signin](https://app.spurtest.com/signin) to sign in with your email and password.

**1. Enter your email**

Enter your work email under **Email** and click **Continue**.

**2. Enter your password**

Enter your password under **Password** and click **Sign in**.

**3. Enter your authenticator code**

If you turned on [two-step verification](#turn-on-two-step-verification), Spur asks for a code. Type or paste the 6-digit code from your authenticator app, then click **Verify**.

To sign in with a Google Workspace account, click **Sign in with Google**. See [Google SSO](https://docs.spurtest.com/additional-resources/sso-providers/google-sso.md) for what your organization needs to set up. If your organization uses Microsoft, open the [Microsoft sign-in page](https://app.spurtest.com/signin?azure_sso=true) and click **Sign in with Microsoft**. See [Azure SSO](https://docs.spurtest.com/additional-resources/sso-providers/azure-sso.md) for setup requirements.

If Spur set up single sign-on (SSO) for your company's email domain, **Continue** opens your company's sign-in page. You skip the password step.

When Google, Microsoft, or your company's sign-in page sends you back, Spur shows **Signing you in** until it finishes. These sign-ins don't ask for a Spur authenticator code. Your identity provider applies its own multi-factor rules.

On this browser, a **Last used** badge marks the button you last signed in with.

## Reset your password

**1. Request a reset email**

On the password step, click **Forgot your password?** Check the address under **Email**, then click **Send reset email**.

**2. Open the reset link**

Open the link in the email. Spur shows **Choose a new password**.

**3. Choose a new password**

Enter a password of at least 6 characters under **New password** and again under **Confirm password**. Click **Update password**.

If you turned on two-step verification, Spur also asks for your authenticator code during the reset. When the reset finishes, Spur shows **Password updated** and takes you back to sign in.

Each reset link works once. If a link has expired or was already used, Spur shows **This link has expired**. Click **Send a new link**, enter your email, and click **Send reset email**.

## Accept an invite

When an admin [invites you](https://docs.spurtest.com/additional-resources/user-roles.md#invite-a-new-user), Spur emails you a link to set up your account.

**1. Open the invite link**

Open the link in the email. Spur shows **Create your account**.

**2. Choose a password**

Enter a password of at least 6 characters under **New password** and again under **Confirm password**. Click **Create account**.

**3. Sign in**

Spur shows **Your account is ready** and takes you to sign in.

Each invite link works once. If a link has expired or was already used, Spur shows **This invite has expired**. Ask your workspace admin to send a new invite.

## Turn on two-step verification

With two-step verification on, every password sign-in also asks for a code from an authenticator app.

**1. Open the Account page**

Go to the [Account page](https://app.spurtest.com/account). Under **Security**, click **Enable MFA** next to **Multi-Factor Authentication**.

**2. Scan the QR code**

Open an authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator or 1Password, and scan the QR code. If you can't scan it, enter the key shown under **Can't scan it? Enter this key instead**. Click **Continue**.

**3. Enter the code from your app**

Enter the 6-digit code that your app shows for Spur. Click **Turn on two-step verification**.

**4. Sign in again**

Spur shows **Two-step verification is on**. Click **Sign in again**. From now on, each password sign-in asks for a code from your app.

To return to the QR code from the code step, click **Back to the QR code**. To leave setup, click **Back to settings**.

## Troubleshoot sign-in

| What you see | What to do |
| - | - |
| Sign-in was cancelled. Please try again. | Google, Microsoft, or your company's sign-in page stopped the sign-in, usually because you canceled it. Sign in again and finish each step. |
| This account doesn't have access to Spur. | The Google, Microsoft, or SSO account you used has no Spur account, so Spur doesn't sign you in. Ask your admin to invite that email. You can also sign in with another account. |
| We couldn't sign you in | Spur couldn't finish a Google, Microsoft, or SSO sign-in. Sign in again. If it keeps failing, [contact the Spur team](https://docs.spurtest.com/additional-resources/contact-us.md). |
| Failed to sign in. Please check your credentials and try again. | The email or password is wrong. Check both. If you forgot your password, [reset it](#reset-your-password). |
| Enter all 6 digits of the code. | The code is incomplete. Enter every digit from your authenticator app. |
